Natural Antioxidant-Loaded Nanoemulsions for Sun Protection Enhancement

چکیده

The aim of this study was to formulate nanodispersions encapsulate antioxidants extracted from olive mill wastewater (OMW) and phycocyanin Spirulina maxima act as enhancers for the skin’s protection against UV radiation. For purpose, two water-in-oil nanoemulsions were prepared using a low-energy homogenization method. Both systems based on isopropyl myristate continuous phase, while water or mixture glycerol used dispersed phase. Then, OMW encapsulated in core nanoemulsions. empty antioxidant-loaded then structurally studied dynamic light scattering detection their droplet size stability over time. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy adequate probes applied characterization surfactants’ monolayer presence absence antioxidants. It found that mean diameter emulsions 200 nm. remained stable 2 months. assessed scavenging activity model radical by applying EPR spectroscopy. loaded exhibited an increased antioxidant capacity compared with ones. Finally, most system added commercial sunscreen lotions overall sun factor (SPF) assessed. contained extracts showed increase SPF value.

Pravastatin Provides Antioxidant Activity and Protection Of Erythrocytes Loaded Primaquine

Loading erythrocytes with Primaquine (PQ) is advantageous. However, PQ produces damage to erythrocytes through free radicals production. Statins have antioxidant action and are involved in protective effect against situation of oxidative stress. Thus the protective effect of pravastatin (PS) against PQ induced oxidative damage to human erythrocytes was investigated in the current studies upon l...

Correlation Between Sun Protection Factor and Antioxidant Activity, Phenol and Flavonoid Contents of Some Medicinal Plants

Long exposure of UV radiation increases risk of skin diseases such as cancer and photoallergic reactions. UV-B (280-320 nm) radiation is mainly responsible for inducing skin problems. Skin protection is a suitable method in the fight against ultraviolet radiation induced damage. Various synthetic agents have been used as photo protective but because of their potential toxicity in humans, they h...

Brinzolamide-Loaded Nanoemulsions: In vitro Release Evaluation

The aim of this investigation was to design and develop nanoemulsions (NEs) as novel ophthalmic delivery systems for brinzolamide (BZD). Phase behavior of quaternary systems composed of triacetin and CapryolTM 90 (selected oils, screened through the solubility studies), various surfactants (namely, Cremophor RH 40, Brij 35, Labrasol and tyloxapol), Transcutol P (as co-surfactant) an...

SUN protection for the skin

LINC complexes, consisting of inner nuclear membrane SUN proteins and outer nuclear membrane KASH proteins, connect the nucleus to the cytoskeleton, transmitting forces that control the nucleus's position within the cell. But how LINC complexes affect the cytoskeleton, and thus the balance of forces across cells and tissues, is less well understood. Stewart et al. now demonstrate that the LINC ...
